Fruit Evolution Guide
Master the complete fruit hierarchy from Cherry to Watermelon
The Evolution Chain
In Fruit Merge, fruits evolve in a specific order. When two identical fruits touch, they combine to create the next fruit in the chain. Understanding this evolution is key to mastering the game.

How Merging Works
Basic Merge Formula:
When two identical fruits make contact, they instantly merge into the next fruit in the evolution chain. The new fruit appears roughly where the two fruits met, and the physics of the game can cause it to push other fruits around.
Key Insight: The Watermelon Exception
When two watermelons touch, something special happens - they both disappear entirely! This clears massive space on your board and awards a huge point bonus. It's the ultimate achievement in Fruit Merge.
Fruit Drop Probability
When you receive a new fruit to drop, the game randomly selects from the first 5 fruits (Cherry through Orange). Each has roughly equal probability of appearing:
- Cherry: ~20%
- Strawberry: ~20%
- Grape: ~20%
- Dekopon: ~20%
- Orange: ~20%
Strategic Implications
Understanding the evolution chain helps you plan ahead:
- Small fruits are common: You'll constantly receive small fruits, so plan for continuous merging
- Large fruits take time: Getting to Watermelon requires 10 successful merge chains starting from Cherry
- Space management: Larger fruits take more space, so keep them organized to prevent overflow
- Chain reactions: Set up fruits so one merge triggers another for bonus points
